Tropheus moorii, the Blunthead CichlidTropheus moorii is truly omnivirous, eating worms, crustaceans, insects and plants in its native habitat. In the aquarium a significant portion of the diet should be vegetable matter to keep this species healthy. Any plants in the aquarium with T. moorii will likely be grazed on. This fish does not grow too large, and so is suitable for smaller tanks of at least 55 gallons. Certain individuals can be aggressive though, so specimens should be watched closely for this sort of behavior.
